Room To Grow
Growing Room promotes from within whenever possible. We believe strongly in preparing employees for management positions. It is our philosophy that employees who work their way up through the company have a unique perspective that allows them to be great leaders. Currently, 75% of our Senior Directors and Assistant Directors began their career in one of our classrooms. Here are a few stories from those who have advanced within our company:

I feel that I am a prime example of the opportunities for advancement that are available in this company.
I began my employment in 1996 as a part time receptionist for the only location in existence at the time. A year later I was full time in the corporate office and was preparing to be relocated to a new facility. Since that time I have advanced from a Co-Director, to a Senior Director, and now I am the Enrollment Coordinator and Parent Account Manager.
I enjoy meeting new families, and I credit the company for the wonderful friendships that I have developed with the families and my co-workers since I began employment.
I have seen children grow with us from infants and toddlers to school age. My own daughter began at the age of 3. She is currently in a magnet program and has prospered in school tremendously due to the skills that she acquired under Growing Room’s development. Now she is 10 years old and still gets very excited when she is able to attend the center during school closings and summer breaks. As a parent I am very pleased with the challenges she gets out of the program, and I can work without worry of the quality care she receives.
For many reasons, I am fortunate to be employed with a company that holds such a high reputation. At Growing Room, I am not just another employee or parent; I am a part of a family.

I began working with the Growing Room in 1997 as a K-3 Paraprofessional. I really enjoyed the classroom and quickly found that I love working with 3 year olds. After the company decided to grow, I also was given the chance to grow.
In the fall of 1998, I was promoted to Lead Teacher. The excitement was overwhelming. Due to the mentoring and training and the positive environment I had, I knew I was ready. After one year in the classroom, I was identified as an employee who had potential to grow. The additional position of Night Owl Manager was given to me and this was a huge responsibility, but it gave me the skills that I needed to further my knowledge outside of the classroom in a management role.
The company grew rapidly over the next year and the company’s name became well known for the loving and professional environment the children were provided. Knowing this, I became even more anxious to become someone who could be responsible for touching not only the children’s lives, but also the families to which they belonged.
In 2001, I was promoted to Assistant Director. One year later, I was promoted to Senior Director.
I feel like a seed that started off small, was given the knowledge to grow and plant my roots firmly in the ground. I’m proud of the person that I have become.
